It is our daily goal to provide quality, up-to-date dental care in a family style atmosphere. We see all our patients as individual people, each deserving the best dental care in an office that really cares about them. We will strive to constantly keep up with technology and our patient’s wishes.

Dr. James E. Harrison

Dr. Harrison was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia. Since 1984, Dr. H (as he is frequently called) has been practicing general dentistry in Hampton Roads. He enjoys his fulfilling practice while continually completing postgraduate education in order to stay at the cutting edge of technology. He is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Harrison is a member of the American Dental Association, The Virginia Dental Association, The Peninsula Dental Society and The Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Harrison has been married for over twenty-four years and has two daughters. One daughter is sixteen and the other is four years old! He has varied interests that include running (he is a veteran marathoner having completed the Boston Marathon three times and the Marine Corps Marathon among others), chess, photography, and guitar. Dr. Harrison loves to coach teenage runners and has done so for over three years as a volunteer. He is a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and has been a Green Bay Packer fan ever since he was a child.

Gayle (Dental Assistant)

Gayle is a native of Smithfield, Virginia. She resides there with her husband and their two children. Gayle has been a dental assistant for over eight years, and is a wonderful "team person". Her warm smile and wonderful attitude help make everyone's day. She enjoys her job because she gets satisfaction from helping people maintain good dental health and improving their smiles. Gayle loves to sing with her church and spend time with her family and friends. She and her family attend Smithfield Baptist Church.

Greta (Office Manager)

Greta grew up mainly in St. Paul, Minnesota but has been in Virginia for over twenty-five years now. She has been the office manager for over 15 years and truly loves her job. She loves the diversity of each day--her job is never boring or predictable. The challenges and advancements in today’s dental care combined with refreshing, unique individual patients’ personalities make each day a joy. Greta enjoys working out, rock and pop music history-concerts-CD's, pro football, and above all being a mom. She is married with two daughters. Greta enjoys volunteering with the local ARC Board, Hampton Public Schools SEAC Board, and the Thomas Nelson Inclusive Daycare Center Advisory Board. Her youngest daughter has Down Syndrome and is the spirit behind these current and important causes. Greta is a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. She may also be the most enthusiastic Minnesota Vikings fan in the state of Virginia.

Our office strives to make each patient experience a happy one. This requires a team effort combined with our excellent doctor (if we do say so ourselves!). We look forward to meeting you and getting to know you.
